What we take care of on a Milwaukee chimney

Freeze and thaw cycles here are hard on brick and mortar, so most visits pair a sweep with a close look at the crown, cap and flashing while we're up there.

  • Sweeping and cleaning

Soot, creosote and debris brushed out of the flue and cleared from the firebox, so the fire draws up instead of rolling into the room.

  • Yearly inspections

The flue, damper, crown and fireplace checked before the season starts, then explained to you in plain terms, with no obligation to book any repair.

  • Brick and mortar repair

Flaking brick, open joints and cracked crowns fixed before another winter of ice pushes them further apart.

  • Cap installation and repair

A cap fitted to your flue size that keeps rain, leaves and nesting animals out while exhaust still escapes.

  • Flashing repair

The seal where the chimney meets the roof checked and redone when water starts showing up in the attic or the firebox.

  • Leak tracing

Water travels before it shows, so we find where it actually gets in before recommending a fix.

What neighbors said after the visit

Our 1920s bungalow had white crust on the chimney brick every spring. Jackson's found the crown was cracked and the cap was missing, fixed both, and this is the first winter the firebox has stayed dry.
Megan Kowalski · Washington Heights
  • I called on a Tuesday, a person picked up, and the sweep was done by Friday. He walked me through what came out of the flue.

    Dan Ortega · Bay View
  • We bought a Riverwest house with a fireplace nobody had used in years. The inspection told us what it needed and what it didn't.

    Priya Natarajan · Riverwest
  • Squirrels had moved into the chimney. New cap, and no more scratching at 5 a.m.

    Tom Brennan · Shorewood
  • The flashing had leaked into our attic for two seasons. They traced it, resealed it, and the stains haven't come back.

    Linda Schaefer · Wauwatosa

Before you pick a time

Prefer to talk it through first? Call (414) 300-3497 and someone from the office will pick up.

Do you come out to my part of town?
We work from our office at 342 N Water St and cover Milwaukee and nearby communities. If you're outside the city, add your address when you book and we'll confirm coverage when we call.
How often should a chimney be inspected?
Once a year, which is what the NFPA 211 standard calls for. How often it needs sweeping depends on how much wood you burn and how dry that wood is.
What happens after I book?
We call you to go over what you've noticed and make sure the service you picked is the right one. Then we arrive at the time you chose, by appointment.
Are there any current offers?
Through December 31, 2026: a free chimney inspection, $50 off a sweep and cleaning, or $120 off a repair total. One coupon per home, and it can't be combined with other offers.

Choose a day below, mention what you've noticed, and we'll call to confirm before we head out.
